As a part of the III. Germanische SS Panzer Korps the 11. Freiwilligen Panzer Grenadier Division "Nordland " was transfered to the Oraniumbaum Pocket in November 1943.
In January 1944 the III. Germanische SS Panzer Korps was forced to retreat to the bridgehead at Narwa.
At Narwa the SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment 24 "Danmark" was heavely engaged in the defence of the bridgehead.
Along with the rest of the "Nordland" Division the Regiment held the lines until July 1944 then the III. Germanische SS Panzer Korps had to retreate to the Tannenberg Lineand.

In September the III. Germanische SS Panzer Korps along with Armee Abteilung "Narwa" were evacuated into Latvia, into the pocket of Kurland.

SS Unterscharführer Friedrich Löck
